Francesco Ferrari was the star of Virtus Bologna's win against Napoli. The team of Dusko Ivanovic had to find their rhythm, starting slowly and with evident offensive difficulties. Virtus struggled to find pace in the early stages, with wet feet and several fluid possessions, so much so that Ivanovic was forced to make rotations with a wide margin. Napoli took advantage immediately: the home team was more brilliant, attacked with greater continuity and tried to extend, reaching a +10 on 21-11. In the last two minutes of the first quarter, however, Olidata managed to partially close the gap and close the first quarter under 21-16. In the second quarter, Guerri continued to lead the game, but as soon as Virtus raised their defensive intensity, the game's momentum changed. The white and blue team began to find more rhythm in attack and, above all, found unexpected protagonists. Matt Morgan gave energy in the first half, but it was especially Francesco Ferrari who took the scene: the 2005-born player scored 10 points in a flash and brought Virtus back to full contact. At the break, Napoli was still ahead, but only by a point on 40-39, with the feeling that the game was slowly turning. The turning point came at the end of the first half. Virtus Bologna tightened their defensive lines and offered a true defensive clinic in the third quarter. Napoli completely stalled while Olidata scored a devastating 11-0 run that gave them their first real lead of the evening on 51-40. From that moment on, the white and blue team took control of the game: Aliou Diarra dominated under the boards, Ferrari continued to hit with personality, and Virtus's defense suffocated every attempt at a comeback by the Neapolitans. The third quarter ended with Virtus ahead 63-50. In the final quarter, Ivanovic's team continued to push the defensive accelerator and manage the lead with clarity, gradually increasing it to the final 90-71. A net win in the score, but built with patience and sacrifice after a complicated start and after being down by 10 in the first quarter. For Virtus Bologna – with all players on the roster except Momo Diouf, who played only in the first two minutes – came the 19 points of an excellent Francesco Ferrari, the authentic MVP of the evening in his first big performance in white and blue after his experience in Cividale. Also excellent was the performance of Aliou Diarra with 14 points, as well as that of Matt Morgan (14). In double digits were also Saliou Niang and Alen Smailagic with 10 points each. For Napoli, 11 points from Rasir Bolton and 10 each from Savion Flagg and Leonardo Totè, but in the second half the Neapolitan attack completely stalled in front of Virtus's defense. A team victory, heavy and precious, won in a complicated away game and with reduced rotations: Virtus Bologna once again demonstrated depth, character, and the ability to find different protagonists when the season enters its most intense phase.
